I survived!
No queasy, no fainting, no apprehension! I survived my first day watching our wonderful vet perform 1 spay and 2 neuters…I was actually intrigued and kept my wits enough to ask sensible questions before, during and after the procedures. Go me! Oh, and I survived the first-day hazing also!

Tomorrow will be my first day volunteering at the CAHS clinic. I’m so incredibly excited to start this new chapter in my life, and also very nervous. For as long as I can remember, I’ve been very “icky” around blood and guts. Here’s to hoping having my own two dogs for the past few years was enough to cure me of this issue!
CAHS volunteering
So over the past few months, I have been doing some massive soul-searching. So far, the only answer I have come to is that there are no defined answers; we make up our future day by day which means that things can change and it’s OK that they do. Waking up everyday, regardless of my current feelings and thoughts on where the path of life has lead me for the moment, I was greeted with two wet noses rested on the edge of my bed. I love those dogs and this only further validated my lifelong dreams. No matter where I am now, or where I am headed, I realize where I end up is the only important thing here. Back to school!
Oh boy, so I never thought the day would come where I would be looking at going back to school! It’s a scary, overwhelming mess of emotions that I had to drudge through to abandon what I know and to come to this conclusion, however, I think it will work out well. I have always loved animals and my dream is to own my own rescue and shelter someday. I need to further learn how to help the animals that I am caring for so I am looking forward to starting a Vet Tech program. Wish me luck!

Welcome to the fancy new site for 2011! I figured with all of the resolutions and changes that are made for the new year, why not make my website one of them.
